Yol Meoded \ “SABA PLAAOT”
This collection is a homage to my grandfather, a carpenter who especially found joy in creating wooden toys. Therefore, I chose to research the trade of traditional carpentry and woodworking, as well as examine the relationship between craftsmen, material, and the final product. In translating this to the fashion world, I processed textiles in different ways to intersect between raw and industrial materials, particularly wool and cotton.
Drawing inspiration from the unique textures of wood and my grandfather’s work clothes, as well as elements from a seesaw horse he built, I designed a collection of women’s clothing, ranging from ready-to-wear to Avant Garde.
This project showcases the intergenerational relationships between a grandfather and granddaughter, between humans and nature, and between the planned and intuitive in the creative process of craftsmen.

יול מעודד / "סבא פלאות"
הקולקציה הינה מחווה לסבא שלי "סבא פלאות"- נגר שיצר צעצועי עץ, דרכו למדתי על עבודת כפיים וחדוות היצירה. אני רואה ערך רב בבעלי מלאכה, זן של אנשים ההולך ונעלם, היודעים את תהליכי החומר והבנייה בדרך ליצירת מוצר. בפרויקט בחרתי לחקור את מלאכת הנגרות והעץ, ולהתייחס למערכת היחסים בין בעל המלאכה, לחומר, ואל התוצר הסופי. בתרגום עיצובי לעולם האופנה אני מפגישה בדרכים שונות בין החומר הגולמי אל התעשייתי בעיקר בצמר וכותנה. וכן בעיבודי טקסטילים החושפים את מקור החומר בדרכים שונות, לצד העץ.
בהשראות מעולם הטקסטורות של העץ ועולם בגדי העבודה שסבא שלי נהג ללבוש, ואלמנטים הלקוחים מסוס נדנדה שהוא התוצר הסופי, עיצבתי ויצרתי קולקציית בגדי נשים הנעה בין היומיומי אל האוונגרדי והחולם.
הפרויקט הוא קשר בין דורי בין סבא לנכדה, בין האדם לטבע, בין המתוכנן לאינטואיטיבי שבתהליך היצירה ובחזרה אל עבודת כפיים רפטטיבית של יומיום.
