Eros (Cupid) from Greek / Roman mythology is described as a beautiful innocent cherub in most art works, but according to his description in mythology these are not qualities that characterize him.

 I compared tragic love stories from mythology to infamously famous couples from the last century .

 In exploring the character and idea in contemporary art, I was inspired by artists such as Jeff Koons who documented his relationship with then wife the adult film star Ilona, and the recreation of “Angel of love” with kitsch and exaggerated elements inspired by Rococo era.

People will always deal with the question of whether love is a “good” or “bad”, wanting to experience it anyway despite of what happens in most cases.

My collection is inspired by the whole research process; representation of angels in art, Greek attire\ draping, colours and ornaments from Rococo combined with modern punk elements.

Destruction, romance and kitsch and the tension between them.
